Author Ladene M. Hayes in talks of adapting book series to film

"HIGH POINT, N.C. — Author Ladene M. Hayes is set to meet with a professional screenwriter to discuss the prospect of seeing her book series, “The Continuing Saga of Rikki Tikki Tavi,” adapted to film.

Hayes is optimistic about her new venture and shares her vision for the movie, stating, “I would see it as a gripping and animated production being as huge as ‘The Left Behind Series,’ or even ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’! My books are a continuing series which means that it's not over yet and there's more to come. I think it would be a good fit because lots of people have heard of ‘Rikki Tikki Tavi’ and would love to hear more about him.

“The Continuing Saga of Rikki Tikki Tavi” picks up where the original Rikki Tikki Tavi story ended. Hayes crafts a whole new series of stories that depicts what would have happened if Rikki had found the last egg and what life was for him afterwards.

The story’s plot is packed with action, intrigue, mystery, danger, as well as love and marriage. Hayes’ book series eventually leads readers and viewers the answer to the curious question as to what exactly happened to that last egg.

Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.

Hayes lives with her husband in High Point, North Carolina. She has been writing for over fifty years and is a mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, enjoying retirement and riding motorcycles.

Hayes was inspired by her fourth grade teacher, now deceased, Ms. Ruth McRae, after a required reading of Rikki Tikki Tavi. Hayes was only nine yrs old but was mesmerized by the story and never forgot it. After spending decades looking for more on the little mongoose and the cobras, she got frustrated and decided to write them herself and find out what happened to the last egg by any means necessary. So 49 yrs later, that's what Ms Hayes did and that's when the birth of The Continuing Saga of Rikki Tikki Tavi was born."
