Good thing scoops don't matter...

How was it that this hit the street before this? Sure, we were planning on getting the official scoop on Jay Ovittore's candidacy, but that's not how it went down...

I'll admit I was kinda pissed off when I saw the News & Record item on their site last week, and I cornered Ovittore about it on Election Night at the old courthouse. It seems my old friend, mentor and colleague Jeri Rowe got it out of him.
Now, after a brief cooling-off period, I'm okay.
For one, Jay was not exactly playing his hand close to the vest. For another, the young candidate has got his show to run, and I've got mine (which is along the same lines of what Elvis Presley said to President Richard Nixon when they met in the White House in 1970.
Also: If you're sitting on something as juicy as that, you're not gonna keep it from Jeri Rowe for too long.
Nicely played, my friend.
Besides, scoops don't matter. Except when they do.
