Candidates for city council are not the only ones in fundraising mode. NC Sen. Don Vaughan, a Guilford County Democrat, will be honored at a reception and fundraiser at the home of former Guilford County Democratic Party Chairman Paul Mengert on Wednesday. NC Senate Democratic Majority Leader Tony Rand of Fayetteville is listed as a special guest.
