Conspiracy alert!

I believe in grand conspiracies, sort of a hobby of mine. Sometimes I get creamed for it, as happened in this long-ago Ed Cone link, when I contemplated the similarities between the Boy Scouts and the Hitler Youth.
Now, it seems, there is some common history. According to Agence France-Presse, there really is a connection between the Boy Scouts and Adolph Hitler.
So who's crazy now?

Brian,
If you had anything but a rudimentary knowledge of Baden-Powell or the history of the Boy Scouts you wouldn't begin to equate the Boy Scouts with the Nazis. The fact that Baden-Powell visited Ribbentropp in 1937 and discussed the scouting movement in no way suggests that Baden-Powell condoned what the Hitler youth ultimately represented.

Brian, if you believe in grand conspiracies why won't you even phone me about the dam scam, Greensboro's conspiracy and fraud that tricked the feds, the state and the taxpayers into an unnecessary dam and reservoir? You have enough evidence to at least report it as an "alledged conspiracy." Why haven't you published my water use (sales) chart that contains Greensboro's bogus watercast to correct the misinformation that citizens have received and believe? - that water use is increasing since 1995. Thanks to me you now know what water use (sales) has decreased since 1995. That is important news the public would want to read in your newspaper but you won't print it. Why?

Frankly, Mike, it just doesn't pass the sniff test for me. Population has gone up since then, the number of households has increased and the city even has a larger footprint than it did in 1995. I also have fresh summer memories of running out of water.
I do admire your tenacity, though. And if you want to address these questions, shoot me an e-mail at editor@yesweekly.com.
