City Manager Rashad Young announces that he has appointed Dwight Crotts as interim chief of the Greensboro Police Department, beginning Aug. 1. Chief Tim Bellamy is scheduled to retire on July 31. Crotts currently serves as assistant chief, with command over the patrol bureau. The city is in the midst of a search for a new police chief.
