Cherry: Recordings needed for defense denied by professional standards

Greensboro police Capt. Charles Cherry says in a memo to City Manager Rashad Young today that the professional standards division is denying him access to recordings of investigative interviews of himself and Officer Joseph Pryor that the two officers need to share with their lawyer in Durham to prepare for their defense.

Pryor's termination hearing is scheduled for Aug. 24, while Cherry's is set to take place the following day.

On a related note, Cherry reports that he is receiving the earned compensation that was previously denied to him.
