Tractor trailer accident stalls traffic on Business 40

Traffic is at a standstill on eastbound Business 40 between downtown Winston-Salem and the Linville Road exit following an accident resulting in a trailer on a FedEx rig turning over and blocking both lanes of the interstate.

The tractor trailer rear-ended a car in front after traffic suddenly slowed. The driver of the car that was hit said no one was injured. The collision caused the second of two trailers on the rig to turn over.

At 5:45 p.m., police were diverting eastbound 40 traffic onto the Linville Road exit.
