UPDATE: Jury hears final arguments in Latin Kings racketeering case

A federal jury in Winston-Salem heard final arguments from the government and defense lawyers in the criminal racketeering case involving a handful of North Carolina Latin Kings.

The jury will receive instructions from US District Court Judge James A. Beaty Jr. when court resumes at 2:30 p.m. and then is expected to begin deliberations.

UPDATE: Judge Beaty allowed the 12 members of the jury to call it a day at about 4:30 p.m. The jury will resume deliberations at 9 a.m. on Monday.
