We're conducting Greensboro City Council candidate interviews this week — one-hour, closed-door meetings with every candidate who will come to our offices and see us. It helps us get to know the candidates, gather string for our reporting and crystallize our thinking on endorsements.
Occasionally we get a scoop.
In today's interview with Mayor Pro Tem Yvonne Johnson, she indicated that this may be her last city council campaign.
"I think this may be my last one," she said.
But she did leave the door open, saying that she may feel differently in two years' time.
And as Jordan Green reminds us, Rep. Howard Coble has been pulling this stunt for years.
