The Great Gatsby, adapted from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel by Simon
Levy, is set in 1920s East Coast America during the Jazz Age. Jay Gatsby, a self-made millionaire,
passionately pursues the elusive Daisy Buchanan. Nick Carroway, a young newcomer to Long
Island, is drawn into their world of obsession, greed and danger. The only play adaptation authorized by the
Fitzgerald Estate since 1926, Simon Levy’s The Great Gatsby has been hailed as,
“…a combination of narration, dialogue and action (that) delivers most of what
is best in the novel... beautiful…stunning…amazing…a brilliant
distillation." (Seattle Post-Intelligencer)
Twin City Stage is the first community or professional theatre in North
Carolina to produce this play. Wells Fargo will sponsor the run of the
show.
