Board Votes to Exercise Purchase Option for IHM Property

The request will go to the Guilford County Board of Commissioners for approval of the purchase

"The Guilford County Board of Education approved Thursday to move forward with purchasing the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School campus.

The board approved moving forward with the option to purchase after receiving due diligence updates from staff on the current condition of the campus and renovations that would be needed if purchased for use as a school.

Staff was requested by the board to evaluate the site as a potential location for The Academy at Central, which is currently housed in the Tomlinson Building on the High Point Central High campus.

The board’s option to purchase is $1.75 million. The board indicated that the purchase price of the property would be paid for by savings from completed projects in the 2008 School Bond.

Next, the board will submit a request to the Guilford County Board of Commissioners to approve the property purchase and purchase price."
