Deceased Person Found In Pawn Shop Fire

From Police Reports
Greensboro police are currently in the early stages of investigating a body found in a burned building at 2010 Randleman Road.
Firefighters responded to USA Pawn at approximately 8:44 am after several people called 911 to report that smoke and flames were visible from the structure.
Firefighters attempted to enter the business, but had to retreat due to heavy smoke, flames, and concerns about the building’s structural integrity. After the flames were extinguished and firefighters conducted a search of the interior of the building, they found a deceased person.
Due to the condition of the body, the identity of the person is not readily apparent. Manner of death is pending autopsy by the Medical Examiner.
The cause of the fire is being jointly investigated by the Greensboro Police Department and the Greensboro Fire Department.
Because the origin of the fire is unknown, and the manner of death is unknown, police are treating this as a crime scene.
