GIRL SCOUTS SCHEDULE AUCTION TO SELL CAMP PROPERTY IN GREENSBORO

"As part of strategic realignment of resources, Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont will auction Camp Douglas Long, located 10 minutes south of Greensboro, at noon on Saturday, May 31. Smitherman Realty will conduct the auction.

The camp, originally a Boy Scout camp, was acquired by the Girl Scouts in 1949 and used as a troop camp and day camp for many years. This sale will be a unique opportunity to own a piece of Girl Scout and Boy Scout history in the form of a beautiful 112 acre property.

Tom Smitherman, 26-year real estate veteran, said Camp Douglas Long is ideal for any organization seeking a retreat setting. “This land tract has everything – great history, timber, streams, lake, housing, good topography and is located close to Greensboro, High Point and Winston Salem.”

The camp property at 5440 Graystone Court, Greensboro, includes a dining hall with a screened porch. It also features a private lake with a dock, as well as rustic cabins and bath houses and a residential park ranger residence.

Information and pictures of the property can be found at www.smithermanrealty.com. All property inquiries can be directed to Smitherman Realty at 336-406-7243."
