Arrest made in Hit and Run that leads to death

"Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department issued a warrant for arrest and took Viola Demitra Spencer, 25 into custody today. She is being held in the Forsyth County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond for allegedly operating the 1997 Nissan Pathfinder that hit and killed Mr. John Otis Hill April 9 at 11:19pm.
Reports state that officers responded to a reported Hit and Run involving a pedestrian in the 2500 block of N. Cleveland Avenue. The pedestrian, later identified as Hill, was struck by a vehicle traveling North on Cleveland Ave near the intersection of E. 25th Street.  After colliding with Hill the suspect vehicle stopped momentarily before continuing north on Cleveland Ave. with the victim trapped underneath the vehicle.  Hill was later located in grave condition in the roadway at Kapp St and Idlewild Industrial Dr.
Hill was transported to NC Baptist Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries sustained as a result of this incident. 
Today, Officers responded and located the suspect vehicle, a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder, at 408 Buick St.
A Warrant for Arrest was obtained for Destroy/Alter/Conceal/Tamper with evidence and was served on Ms. Viola Demitria Spencer at the Forsyth County Jail.
This investigation is still continuing.
