Valery Lantratov, of Russia, Teaches Master Classes in the Triad
"Artistic Motion School of Arts is accepting registrations for a Master Ballet Intensive with Valery Lantratov, of Bolshoi and Moscow Stanislavski Ballets, from Aug. 4– 8.
Valery Lantratov had a distinguished career as a dancer in the companies of Vladimir Vasiliev, Maya Plitsetskaya, and Ekaterina Maximova, and international tours with Rudolf Nureyev. Most recently he has made international headlines for his role as Czar Nicholas II in a production of the new ballet Rasputin, with Farouk Ruzimatov of the Marinsky Theater (Kirov). In 1997, Russian President Boris Yeltsin named Lantratov “People’s Artist of Russia,” the Russian Federation’s highest artistic honor. Lantratov served as a guest instructor for Boston Ballet in the United States, and currently spends time in the United States each year training young dancers.
Classes will be held from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm each day. Registration is open to those at least 11 years of age with a minimum of three years prior ballet experience. Previous pointe experience is not required. Lantratov will be personally teaching daily classes in ballet technique, partnering, and variations. Classes in yoga and contemporary/character will also be included daily. Additional information, including registration, can be found at http://www.artisticmotiondance.com.
“This is a unique opportunity for Triad ballet students to receive world-class instruction from one of today’s leading artists and teachers,” says Natalya Davison, Artistic Motion Executive Director. “Lantratov encourages and motivates his students to work to their fullest potential through a structured and fun series of classes.”
