Fight breaks out on Burke Street in Winston-Salem

"On Dec. 6, just after 2am, Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to 1110 Burke St. (Burke Street Pub) on a reported Fight in Progress involving approximately ten people.

Upon arrival, Officers engaged two subjects that were actively fighting.  One Officer deployed their issued OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) spray and dispersed the fight.  The investigating Officer determined that Mr.  William Wade Roseboro, 25, and Mr.  Bruce Wesley Spraggins, 36, were inside the Burke Street Pub creating a disturbance.  The two individuals were asked to leave the business and both refused. Roseboro and Spraggins were forcibly removed from the business by staff . Once outside, Roseboro and Spraggins were assaulted by Joseph Kyle Spring, 29, and Matthew Trenton Davis, 30.

Roseboro, of 128-3 Westdale Ave., Winston-Salem, was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken jaw.  Spraggins, of 1642 Village Place, Winston-Salem, sustained a laceration to his face.

Approximately nine Officers were dispatched to the scene and remained there for slightly over an hour.

Spring was charged with Assault Inflicting Serious Injury and put under a $1,000.00 Secured Bond
Davis was charged with Assault and Battery / $1,000.00 Secured Bond

Roseboro was charged with 2nd Degree Trespassing / Disorderly Conduct  - Cited to Court
Spraggins was charged with 2nd Degree Trespassing / Disorderly Conduct – Cited to Court

Winston man charged with Armed Robbery/Conspiracy/Kidnapping

"On Nov. 30 at 6:18pm, officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to Tienda Emanuel Grocery Store in reference to an Armed Robbery in progress by two black males. Upon arriving at the business, located at 3122 Infiana Ave., officers apprehended Malik Raqhib Lane, 19, black male, who is one of the two subjects perpetrating the robbery.  The clerk advised that Lane and a second black male entered the store. The second subject removed a handgun from his coat and approached the store clerk demanding money.  An undisclosed amount of money was given to the subject who fled from the store through the rear exit just prior to officers arriving. Lane was still in the store when he was apprehended. No one was injured during the robbery.

This case was referred to the Criminal Investigations Division.  According to the report, Lane, of 391 Highland Ave., Winston-Salem,  has been charged with Armed Robbery/Conspiracy/Kidnapping and is on a $15,000.00  Bond

Man pulls gun, demands money, cigarettes in robbery of Winston-Salem store.

"Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded Nov. 30 at 5:44pm to 430 Haled Street (T & B Mini Mart) in Winston-Salem in reference to a Panic Alarm.

Upon the officers arrival it was learned that the business had been robbed. The clerk advised that two black males wearing all dark clothing entered the store. One of the suspects removed a handgun from his coat and approached her at the counter. That suspect then demanded money and cigarettes.  An undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes were obtained and the suspects left the store running west on Waughtown Street.

No one was injured during the robbery.

This case was referred to our Criminal Investigations Division.

Winston-Salem woman forced into car and taken. Police report Kidnapping

"On Nov. 29 at 12:38am Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to the 7100 Block of Brandemere Lane, the Brandemere Apartments on an unknown trouble call.

The caller reported hearing a female yelling for help. When the caller looked outside, they observed an unknown black female being pulled into a black Toyota Camry by an unknown male described as a bald, black male who was on the passenger side of the vehicle. The caller said the female was forced into this vehicle by this subject before the vehicle left the area. The vehicle was last seen heading toward Bethabara Park Boulevard.

At this time, no further information has been developed and the investigation is continuing.
