"Duke senior attackman Jordan Wolf and Notre Dame senior defenseman Stephen O’Hara have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, as announced Tuesday by the league.
Senior attackman Jordan Wolf had a career week with 13 points and a pair of game-winning goals to lead Duke to two victories. In a midweek tilt with Marquette, Wolf tallied a career-high eight points from a career-high six goals and two assists. It was the first time a Duke player had scored at least eight points in a single game since 2011. Four days later against No. 4 North Carolina, the Wynnewood, Pa., native scored the overtime game-winner as Duke upended North Carolina to earn its first ACC win. Wolf totaled five points on four goals and one assist against the Tar Heels, which earned him his 24th career hat trick and moved him to fifth all-time on Duke’s career points list (237).
O’Hara helped lead the Fighting Irish defense to hold Virginia, which entered the game averaging nearly 14 goals per game, to a season-low nine goals and only 26 shots in ND’s 18-9 win over the Cavaliers on March 16. O’Hara caused three turnovers and picked up four ground balls, while helping to limit Virginia’s second-leading scorer, attackman James Pannell, without a point. After allowing the first goal of the game, the Irish defense surrendered just one goal in a span of 26:23 en route to taking an 8-2 lead.
ACC men’s lacrosse action continues tonight with three league teams playing non-conference matches."
