Tickets Now on Sale for RiverRun's 2014 Festival

"The lineup of RiverRun's 2014 Festival was announced Mon., Mar. 3 - the day after the Academy Awards. This year's Festival boasts an incredible selection of film experiences, screening 145 films from 33 countries. We are proud to announce that we will once again sceen two films on Opening Night, April 4. The first, Le Chef, is an uproarious comedy in which a famous veteran chef faces off against his restaurant's new CEO. The second opening night film is To Be Takei, a documentary about 76 year-old George Takei, who has become more popular than his Sulu days on "Star Trek" through his active social media presence in the movements for marriage equality and for reparations for the victims of Japanese internment camps. Opening night films are presented by Flow Audi of Winston-Salem. The Festival will close on April 13 with Bicycling With Molière, in which a retired actor Serge (Fabrice Luchini) is approached by Gauthier to star in a revival of Molière's The Misanthrope, but he plays hard to get.

In between, the Festival will feature a wide variety of features, documentaries, shorts and animation in competition sections, as well as many fims in non-competition sidebars. This year we are reprising our Focus section, a sidebar that offers an eclectic mix of films from emerging talents, RiverRun alums and veteran filmmakers alike; and Altered States: New Directions in American Cinema featuring a new wave of exciting, independent American filmmakers who are charting heretofore unexplored territory within the medium. RiverRun will also again present a Community Cinema program of free public screenings, created to broaden our outreach efforts and ensure the Festival is accessible to audiences from all backgrounds.
A complete lineup of screenings, panel discussions and Festival events is now live  on our website at www.riverrunfilm.com.
