Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater High Point have announced the start
of Phase One of a comprehensive $4 million Revitalization Plan for its three
local facilities plus Camp Cheerio. The plan is designed to upgrade physical
facilities, improve member services and revitalize the Y’s programs.
Construction will begin immediately on a custom-designed aquatic Splash Pad and
upgraded parking areas at the Hartley Drive Y. The Grubb Family Y in Archdale
will also receive a Splash Pad plus an indoor cycling room. The YMCA’s Camp
Cheerio in Sparta, N.C. will be receiving renovations to its Indian Guide Lodge
and Adventure Camp cabins designed to maintain its status as the premier summer
camp in the state.

this year, will encompass an extensive redesign of interior spaces at the
Hartley Drive Y. The project will include a completely renovated women’s locker
room, a new Kid’s Zone and refreshed hallways and interior access areas. Phase
two also includes new playground and shelter facilities for the Grubb Family Y.
The facility upgrades coincide with the YMCA’s launch of
