Winston-Salem native, Jermane Darnell Clark, 22, of 425 Stedman St, Greensboro was shot and later died. On April 29 around 11:04 p.m., Greensboro Police Officers responded to the 400 block of Stedman St. in reference to an assault. When they arrived they found Clark, a student at North Carolina A&T University and member of the football team, shot. He was transported to a local hospital and later passed.
Police are still attempting to identify suspects and investigating the motive of the assault.
