Hit and Run results in Death

Winston-Salem Police officers responded to a Hit and Run involving a pedestrian in the 2500 block of N. Cleveland Ave.

Reports state that Mr. John Otis Hill B/M 5-3 1959, was struck by a vehicle traveling North on Cleveland Ave. near the intersection of E. 25^th Street.

After colliding with Hill, the suspect vehicle stopped momentarily before continuing north on Cleveland Ave. with the victim trapped underneath. Hill was later located in grave condition in the roadway at Kapp St. and Idlewild Industrial Dr.

Hill was transported to NC Baptist Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries sustained as a result of this incident.  The investigation has been assumed by the Winston-Salem Police Department Traffic Enforcement Unit.  This is an on-going investigation; hence specific details of this incident are not being released at this time.
