The Winston-Salem Police Department is holding a “Stuff the Patrol Car” toy drive Dec. 6 - 11 to serve needy families in Winston-Salem. A police officer will be at the Oak Summit (Walmart) Shopping Center at 320 E. Hanes Mill Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, and Monday through Thursday, Dec. 8 - 11, to accept donations of new, unwrapped toys.
Police Chief Barry Rountree said the toy drive is yet another way the Police Department can serve the citizens of Winston-Salem, and it provides a new avenue for improving relations between police officers and the community. “I would like to encourage all citizens to help ‘stuff the patrol car,’ ” Rountree said. “Together, we can provide some Christmas cheer to the less fortunate in our community.”
