"The Greensboro Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities is holding its annual Shoppers’ Day from 8:30 am to 12 noon on Thursday, December 4 at the Four Seasons Town Centre. Volunteers from high schools and Guilford County organizations, as well as local residents, will host shoppers with different abilities.
This event emphasizes the importance of empathy, acceptance, and compassion while allowing volunteers to gain valuable insight from persons with disabilities. Volunteers become aware of obstructions, both physical and emotional, that people with disabilities regularly face, and gain a better understanding of others’ barriers.
The shopping trip also features free entertainment, refreshments and a visit with Santa.
