"The Winston-Salem Police
Department responded to a reported Affray and Discharging a Firearm in the City
Limits call at Ziggy’s, located at 170 West 9th Street. Officers
located subjects fighting in the parking lot as the club was closing for the
night. While officers were trying to disperse the large crowd and stop the
subjects from continuing to fight, multiple gun shots were heard by the
officers from an unknown nearby location. No injuries or property damage was
reported and no suspects have been identified at this time. The crowd was able
to be dispersed as additional officers arrived on the scene.
A short time later, Kristy Young, 26, of 616 Dana Court in Winston-Salem, reported to officers that she was robbed at gun point by the above listed
suspect as she was leaving Ziggy’s for the night. Ms. Young said the suspect
approached her as was walking to her vehicle and displayed a handgun before taking
her wallet along with her cell phone. The suspect then ran from the area. Ms.
Young was not injured and this investigation is continuing.
