Location: Akron Market Amoco (3890 N. Glenn Avenue Winston-Salem, NC)
On
July 11, 2015, at approximately 12:45 a.m., a black male entered the Akron Market
Amoco and confronted an employee of the business with a firearm while demanding
currency from the cash register.
The
suspect fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The employee was not injured during the
encounter and authorities with the Winston-Salem Police Department have been
investigating the incident since it occurred.

November 08, 2015

Location: Family Dollar (4404 Old
Rural Hall Road Winston-Salem, NC)
Shortly
after 8:00 p.m., officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to
the Family Dollar located at 4404 Old Rural Hall Road on a reported armed
robbery. Two suspects entered the
business through the front door. One
suspect remained at the front door, while the second suspect proceeded to rob
the business while brandishing a handgun.
The second suspect fired multiple shots inside the business, striking two
employees of the business. Those
injuries are not life threatening. The
two suspects fled the business with an undisclosed amount of currency.
Update: November 20, 2015
On
November 17, 2015, authorities with the Winston-Salem Police Department
arrested twenty-seven year old Richard Thomas (Tommy) Little on unrelated
charges. Mr. Little has remained in
custody since that time.
On
November 20, 2015, authorities charged Richard Thomas Little with Robbery with
a Dangerous Weapon in connection to the July 11, 2015 robbery of the Akron
Market Amoco. Authorities also charged
Richard Little with two counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and two
counts of Assault Inflicting Serious Injury in connection to the November 08,
2015 robbery of the Family Dollar.
At
the time of this Public Record Release, a bond and court date had yet to be
determined in these matters. A booking
photograph of Mr. Little is attached.
The
investigation into these matters is ongoing.
Authorities ask that anyone with information regarding this incident is

Update: December 2, 2015
Authorities
have continued their investigation into the recent robbery that occurred at the
Family Dollar. As mentioned earlier,
shortly after 8:00 p.m. on November 08, 2015, officers with the Winston-Salem
Police Department responded to the Family Dollar located at 4404 Old Rural Hall
Road on a reported armed robbery. Two
suspects entered the business through the front door. One suspect remained at the front door, while
the second suspect proceeded to rob the business while brandishing a
handgun. The second suspect fired
multiple shots inside the business, striking two employees of the
business. Those injuries are not life
threatening. The two suspects fled the
business with an undisclosed amount of currency.
After
further investigation into this matter, authorities determined that three
suspects actually participated in the robbery.
On December 01, 2015, authorities charged twenty-nine year old Chester
Allen Timmons with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon in connection with this
incident. Mr. Timmons’ charges stem
solely from the robbery of the Family Dollar and no information has been
developed to connect Mr. Timmons to the other incidents previously mentioned in
this Public Record Release.
Chester
Timmons is being held in the Forsyth County Detention Center under a
$100,000.00 secured bond. A booking
