"Winston-Salem Police responded Dec. 21 at 12:58pm to a report of a shooting in
the 1000 block of E. 17th Street. Officers located the victim, Dasean
Hunter, 19, who had sustained a single gunshot wound to his lower body. Hunter, who resides at 1050 E. 17th Street, was involved in a verbal altercation with the unknown suspect just before the
shooting occurred. The suspect is described as a black male, 16-25 years in age, with a dark complexion. He was wearing a dark grey toboggan, black hoodie, light colored pants and armed with a handgun.
Hunter was transported by ambulance to the Wake Forest
University Baptist Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
The investigation into this incident is continuing. Anyone
