N&R: Alston accused of pressuring mayor, council members over hotel

Esteemed colleagues at the News & Record Amanda Lehmert and Joe Killian follow my scoop this afternoon with a marquee story about Skip Alston's strong-arm tactics with Greensboro Mayor Bill Knight and Mayor Pro Tem Nancy Vaughan. In Lehmert and Killian's account, Vaughan's outraged sensibility gets more play. If it's any consolation to my friends at the daily paper, their story has far outpaced mine in comments: YES! UPDATE: Fecund Stench funs on this story. N&R editorial writer Doug Clark calls on the county commission to recall Alston.

UPDATE 2: Fox 8 gets the story wrong. Danny Thompson was not in the meeting with Alston, and did not make any allegations about threats.
