An ex-Klansman on the offensive

Former Ku Klux Klan exalted cyclops EH Hennis, normally a regular speaker from the floor at Guilford County Commission meetings, took his show to the Greensboro City Council on Tuesday. The object of his ire was at-large Councilwoman Mary Rakestraw, a former county commissioner.

Hennis: “I’m the mayor of Groometown and consultant to the Groometown mafia. We suffered a total loss over at the commissioners. Motor-mouth Rakestraw and Phyllis Gibbs, they were known as the ‘Barbie Twins.’ Part of our loss is your gain. When we got Mary the parks took so much beauty at the parades that no one could replace them at social gatherings. They probably shifted more ribbon-cuttings and groundbreaking ceremonies to Howard Coble. I attempted to be a candidate for county commissioners to replace Rakestraw’s twin Gibbs. Mary came up with a way to get me jailed on a one-hundred-and-twenty-five dollar bond and out of the race. Mary Gibbs, with the assistance of lying Rufus Scarborough, the mastermind of the compulsive BJ [inaudible], they lied to the magistrate and grand jury that I was extremely dangerous and had explosives on my property. It had been over thirty years since I had explosives on my property, back when I had two wells drilled. Mary thought she was smart enough to pull off the dirty trick on me, not knowing that a friend made a beeline for my home to inform me. The Constitution states that the accused will face their accusers. Many of them testified, but came marching through the courtroom like a couple hussies acting like lesbians. By not accepting a plea bargain and it could be a misdemeanor the second offer I got was to pay eighty-five and accept the misdemeanor. I chose to fight to have no record. I received ten months suspended probation with three years probation and it cost me many thousands of dollars plus lots of inconvenience. I think it’s time for payback so I’ll make sure she’s known to the public by [inaudible] introducing her [inaudible] also hanging in effigy on Groometown Road with an explanation. Thank you.”

Being able to articulate one's thoughts is a good thing for a candidate.

"...a couple hussies acting like lesbians..."

Did anyone else think this could have been a line from Reno 911?

Congratulations on your document trove, Roch. I mean it.

The main benefit of the "documents trove," Jordan, is that they are in a single collection -- mostly though, they consist of already released materials.

I'm still hopeful that information heretofore unreleased will be forthcoming, but for now, not too much to get excited about.

Roch, I've thought about asking if I could get in on the collective review session, but as it turns out I'm swamped with other responsibilities this week.

Jordon,

I think it would be very good to have you there if/when it happens. Since it doesn't look like it will be happening very soon, maybe your schedule will allow later.
