The Rev. Jesse Jackson at Winston-Salem State University on Thursday: “A college student with a credit card and no job is a formula for disaster.”
MORE JESSE:
Jackson begins by asking, six days after the 40th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination in Memphis, what can be done to honor the dream today. His answer is kind of a grab-bag of self-empowerment and government intervention: register to vote, stop handgun violence and don't use drugs. My favorite quote: “If you’re sitting here today unregistered, you are a sitting, walking, talking, ungrateful contradiction.”
