High hilarity. I think Zack and Trudy were tweaking the mayor a little bit for his efforts to police texting. So, these are pretty inoccuous communications. I'm much more interested in what kinds of communications council members are having with developers about the new street connectivity requirements in the draft Land Development Ordinance.
was it funny as well to see the president of the biggest special interest group in guilford county talk to the council with 10 out of 18 members of this committee are trebic members, fox guarding the hen house
Yes, it was. The council members were naturally disappointed to learn that they couldn't save the taxpayers money by merging county and city departments, so Marlene Sanford seemed massage their dashed hopes by talking about everything they could do to streamline services for developers, including merging planning, inspections, parks and rec and utilities into one development services department. And when the merger takes place, she said she wanted an implementation advisory committee made up of customers (translation: developers). I wondered if she and the council had forgotten that there are other constituencies besides the real estate industry that have a stake in the merger question.

Zack Matheny showed a text from Tom Phillips to Trudy Wade. Tom says during his time, and during Alma's, public comments came at end of mtg
jordan time to ask for all related texts on this issue?

just saw the video and good points.
As you can see she wants this to be done by july, yea right.
It was also amazing to hear her on who to appoint to the implementation task force. Wonder who that would be.
