One name that should get a few mouths watering is that of banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck, who is performing in an as-of-yet undetermined capacity, though the Shakori show will occur in the midst of separate tours with the heavenly-voiced Oumou Sangare on one side and Zakir Hussein & Edgar Meyer on the other. Even if Fleck is solo, fans of traditional African music can get their fix with Chinowiso Maraire, daughter of famed African mbira player Dumisani Maraire.
Also confirmed is Leftover Salmon frontman Vince Herman with his new band Great American Taxi, Shakori staples Keith Frank & The Soileau Zydeco Band, Crooked Still, Scythian, and Eileen Jewell.
Not enough? How about Rusted Root, who will surely be one of the headliners; Kelley & the Cowboys, one of my favorite country voices out there; and great old-time band the Hackensaw Boys.
Also of note is that the early bird ticket special has been extended through Sunday, February 28. They're priced at $80 for an adult ticket and will bump to $90 thereafter. Usually early bird specials like those are for folks willing to take a dive without knowing who's playing, so do what you will with this newfound knowledge.

Everyone intending to camp should bring Sevin dust. The ticks are horrendous and hundreds of attendees have contracted lyme disease at the event.
Hundreds? What's your source, Fec?
Highly dubious, indeed. I know dozens of people who go and I've never heard of a single person coming away with such illness.
