Blues artist/educator Fruteland Jackson will present his “All About The Blues” series tomorrow at Newcomer’s School in Greensboro tomorrow morning, Friday, April 23. In doing so, he will achieve a milestone of having taught his one millionth student.
Mr. Jackson teaches 50,000 students per year. Tomorrow, at Newcomer’s School in Greensboro, Mr. Jackson will have taught student number 1,000,000.
The Piedmont Blues Preservation Society is honored to have Fruteland Jackson present his highly acclaimed Blues In The Schools program “All About The Blues” from April 21-April 23. He has already enthralled hundreds of students in Guilford County; thus far he has visited Northern High School, Penn-Griffin Middle School and held a teacher’s workshop at the Greensboro Arts Center.
Friday evening at 8:00 at the Rehearsal Hall in the Greensboro Arts Center, Fruteland Jackson will perform an acoustic showcase of his own unique style of Piedmont and delta blues. This performance is open to the public. Admission at the door is $10; $5 for current PBPS members.
