Pro-choice demonstrators march in downtown Greensboro

Starting around noon on Feb. 26, between 65-70 people gathered in "Hamburger Square" along McGee Street downtown for a pro-choice demonstration.

They marched down Elm Street and were met by a number of supportive passersby and drivers. After passing through Center City Park, they turned and headed back to where they started for a rally.

The demonstration comes as Republican lawmakers have proposed government budget cuts that, among other things, threaten funding of Planned Parenthood.

Some of the pro-choice advocates traveled from Chapel Hill to attend. The word was primarily spread via Facebook. There was a significant age-range among the attendees, and one held a sign reading "I vote in four years and I don't forget."
