Committee to consider proposals to manage Greensboro farmers market

I bumped into potter Jim Rientjes at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market today, and was surprised to learn that he had not heard about the meeting scheduled for next Wednesday to consider proposals to manage and operate the market. I'm guessing not many of the other vendors have heard about the meeting either.

According to a Feb. 24 memo from Greensboro Parks and Recreation Director Greg Jackson, a citizen committee will meet next Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Blair Richmond Conference Room, located at the Learning Center at 1001 4th St. to review the Request For Proposals to establish a framework for evaluating the proposals. The doors are locked at 5 p.m., but a staff member will be available to let committee members and the public in until 5:30 p.m.

Committee members appointed by council include Violet Landreth, Jace Ralls, Denny Crowe, John O'Sullivan and Galen Oliver.
