25th Annual Blues Festival Line-up Unveiled March 23


YES! Weekly presents the 25th Annual Carolina Blues Festival. And on Wednesday, March 23, the Piedmont Blues Preservation Society will announce the line-up for their Silver Anniversary festival. The annual Press Conference/Announcement Party will be held at Café Europa, 200 N. Davie Street next to the Cultural Arts Center in downtown Greensboro.

The 25th annual festival will take place Saturday, May 7th at Festival Park, downtown Greensboro. The Carolina Blues Festival is the closing event of theEMF Jazz & Blues Series.

The PBPS extends an invitation to all media partners to join us for a special media reception beginning at 4:00 pm at Café Europa. There will be complimentary appetizers for our media guests. At 4:30 pm, the PBPS will announce its line-up for the 25th anniversary festival. And then at 5:00 pm, Owen Poteat, the winner of the 2010 PBPS Blues Challenge (solo/duo competition) will perform in a special concert showcase.

Also, the winning entry in the YES! Weekly Poster Contest will be revealed. The winning entry will be the official design of the 25th Annual Carolina Blues Festival poster.

Tickets for the 25th Annual Carolina Blues Festival, presented by YES! Weekly, will be available at Café Europa during the Press Conference/Announcement Party at a special group rate discount. The next day, March 24, Festival tickets will go on sale at the following outlets:

4:00 pm: Media reception with complimentary appetizers

4:30 pm: Announcement of the Festival line-up

5:00 pm: Special concert showcase with Owen Poteat, 2010 winner of the PBPS Blues Challenge (solo/duo competition).
