Assault charge dropped against nightclub operator Scarfone

A Jan. 30 charge of assault on female against Greensboro nightclub operator Rocco Scarfone has been dismissed by the Guilford County District Attorney's office, said his lawyer, Amiel Rossabi. Scarfone owns Allure Nightlife, one of the South Elm Street entertainment corridor's top destination dance clubs.

"They had absolutely no facts, and absolutely no prosecution witness who intended for charges to be brought and no facts from anyone to support charges being brought," Rossabi said.

Scarfone was told on Jan. 30 that the Greensboro Police Department had a warrant for his arrest, and turned himself in, Rossabi said, adding that he has asked the department to investigate the charge. He said he awaits a report from Assistant Chief Ron Rogers.
