Wiz Khalifa busted again in North Carolina

The last time Wiz Khalifa came to Winston-Salem, he was riding the buzz of a much-publicized marijuana bust at a Greenville, N.C. concert the night before. The next time he visits the Camel City, he could standing before a judge.

After Forsyth County Sheriff’s Deputies obtained a warrant to search both Khalifa himself and his tour bus, the “Black and Yellow” rapper was once again found to be in possession of marijuana during a North Carolina tour stop. The search outside of the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum yielded 11.39 grams of marijuana — just within the threshold for simple possession — and his set was nonetheless allowed to go forward.

Khalifa appeared distressed early on in his show when he addressed the audience for a promo of his upcoming film Mac and Devin Go to High School, but completed his full set that included guest spots by Chevy Woods and Juicy J. A planned after-show meet-and-greet did not go forth, however, as the small crowd that assembled backstage was abruptly dismissed by the rapper’s personal security.

Khalifa’s normally active Twitter account was strangely silent in the hours following, with only a message stating “Made it out alive” appearing shortly after 1 a.m. A Tweet from tour production head Dan Saldarini was more conclusive, saying “The message is clear. We won't be back.”

Khalifa was previously searched and cited on November 9, 2010 during a performance on the campus of East Carolina University. His most recent legal mishap came in Nashville on April 21 when he was cited for misdemeanor marijuana possession.
