The Weatherspoon Art Museum in Greensboro celebrated Latina culture this evening with its 8th annual summer solstice party two days in advance of its new exhibit, Zone of Contention: The US/Mexico Border. The timing of the celebration was fortuitous, with an announcement from President Obama coming earlier in the day that the US government will halt deportations of of undocumented young people who came to the United States with their parents under the age of 16.
West End Mambo kept the dancers moving, and the Taqueria El Azteca food truck had people lined up in the parking lot for tacos.
