Place Counseling (RPC) will host its 5th Annual Fashion Show and
Auction on March 27, 2014 at the Greensboro Country Club from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Proceeds
from the event will benefit Restoration Place Counseling, a non-profit
organization that provides accessible, affordable counseling services to girls
and women in the Triad suffering from issues such as depression, anxiety,
eating disorders and the effects of past abuse.
The theme of this year’s
event is Brave. Webster defines brave as “showing
courage”, which is how we describe every woman who walks through the doors at
RPC. To face the pain of one’s past and resolve to take the difficult steps
toward healing, above all, takes courage. Every part of the event will
represent the Brave theme—from a recent pre-event photo shoot with lions and
tigers at the Conservators’ Center to client testimonial videos during the
runway show to a grand finale choreographed to the highly popular tune by Sara
Bareilles.
Women feel an enormous
pressure to be beautiful and are aware of constant evaluations of their
appearance. A key element of the event is to push back against the culture’s
definition of beauty and to empower women to courageously embrace their own
unique beauty. The runway show will feature local women of all ages, shapes and
ethnicity modeling the latest fashions and accessories from the following local
retailers: Simply Meg’s, Fleet Plummer, Splurges Boutique, Lane Bryant, Uptown
Cheapskate, The Contemporary Lady, and Cookie Lee Accessories by Lisa Yoakum.
The evening will begin
with a reception of heavy hors d’oeuvres and silent auction—featuring BidPal's
Cellular Bidding System—followed by the
high-energy, first-class fashion show.
Tickets are $50.00 each.
Tickets may be purchased
