Patrick “Pat” Neely was born in Detroit, Michigan. In 1988, Neely and his three brothers opened a barbeque restaurant in Memphis. In the early 90s, Pat rekindled his passion for his high school sweetheart, Gina, and the two now have a daily TV show on The Food Network called “Down Home with the Neelys.”  They are also the authors of Down Home with the Neelys: A Southern Family Cookboo and The Neelys’ Celebration Cookbook: Down-Home Meals for Every Occasion.

Bookmarks is a literary arts nonprofit organization based in Winston-Salem that engages, inspires, and connects readers with authors. This is achieved through the largest annual free book festival in North Carolina; Triad-based author talks; and the Authors in Schools program, which reached 5,000 students in 2013. Bookmarks’ tenth festival of books and authors will be held on September 6, 2014 at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts and in the surrounding area on Spruce Street. Visit for more information."
