Felonious Restraint charges filed as 3 arrested at ransom exchange

"Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to a reported Kidnapping. The victim contacted his father  and advised him that he was being held against his will until money could be delivered to his captors.  A meeting place for the money/victim exchange was determined and it was decided to be the parking lot of the Planet Fitness located at 2672 Peters Creek Parkway.

Just prior to the planned exchange was to take place, Officers were able to identify the suspects and the victim in the parking lot of the Planet Fitness.  The arrestees were taken into custody without incident.  The victim was secured.  The arrestees were charged with the below listed offenses.

It was learned that the victim was held against his will and assaulted numerous times throughout the day due to an outstanding debt. The initial event originated in Davidson County.  Davidson County was notified of the situation and responded to Winston-Salem to assist.

The victim was transported to Baptist Hospital due to head trauma resulting from multiple personal weapon strikes to the head.  His injuries were not determined to be life-threatening.

This investigation is ongoing and no photographs will be released at this time.
