Sanctuary House, The Green Bean, and A Sweet Success! Bakery… Partners to raise awareness for Mental Health

Greensboro, NC – May is Mental Health Awareness Month and on May 21st, Sanctuary House partnered with The Green Bean and A Sweet Success! Bakery to help to raise awareness for mental health by wearing green.

Community members and patrons to The Green Bean were asked to WEAR GREEN on MAY 21st to raise awareness for Mental Health.

Sanctuary House also continued to raise awareness throughout the day by asking supporters to create a ‘Social Media Buzz’ by wearing green all day and snapping a photo and posting on social media networks using #sanctuaryhouse and #greenbean. The response was great and successful in reaching more people and raising awareness for Mental Health.

According to NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness), “One in four adults−approximately 61.5 million Americans−experiences mental illness in a given year. One in 17−about 13.6 million−live with a serious mental illness such as schizophrenia, major depression or bipolar disorder.”
