Black Mountain Chocolate’s Visible Factory opens in Winston-Salem!

"Winston-Salem, North Carolina – September 15, 2014 – Black Mountain Chocolate Company opens its Visible Chocolate Factory to the public on Friday, Sept. 19.

Mayor Allen Joines is scheduled for a ribbon-cutting at 11:30a.m. that day to start the Grand Opening celebration.

The firm’s new location on Trade Street features large windows that let guests actually see their chocolate being made.  The Visible Factory also offers guided tours and chocolate-making classes.  BMC’s pastry chef creates house-made confections, pastries, gelato, drinking chocolate, tea and coffee in the on-site Chocolate Kitchen – also visible to guests.

“Black Mountain Chocolate is proud to join Winston-Salem’s growing artisan food community!” said Brent Peters, co-proprietor of BMC with his wife Dawn and daughter Megan.  “We love the location in the Downtown Arts District, crafting edible art in the form of chocolate.”

BMC is the first retail operation to open in the newly renovated Big Winston Tobacco Warehouse at 8th and Trade Streets in downtown Winston-Salem.

Black Mountain Chocolate is North Carolina’s original craft chocolate maker, operating since 2007.  Founded near Black Mountain, North Carolina, Black Mountain Chocolate is personally crafted all the way from the cocoa bean.  Using natural ingredients, BMC works in small batches to coax the maximum flavor from each ethically-sourced cocoa bean.  BMC products can be found at many gourmet or grocery stores, coffee shops, wineries, at the company’s retail stores on Trade Street and in Reynolda Village in Winston-Salem, and online at www.blackmountainchocolate.com."
