This
event is being held to honor ESR’s 50 years of dedicated service to the
community through its programs over the past five decades. Since 1964, ESR has
been a trailblazer for the community with programs such as Head Start,
Trans-Aid, and Emergency Response, all of whom have been in succession for many
years. In addition, ESR has upheld it’s slogan of “empowering people to become
self-reliant” with programs, support, and outreach in the community to support
clients in their transition from poverty to sustainability. Now, ESR’s programs
consist of Self-Sufficiency, New Century IDA (Individual Development Account),
EITC/VITA (Earned Income Tax Credit/Volunteer Income Tax Credit), and the
Housing program. Each of these programs are designed and centered on the
development and progression of people, which is the highlight of the gala."
