"Art & Sole,
now in its 6th year, brings both art lovers and strollers to the
historic Westerwood neighborhood. Yearly, on the first Saturday of October,
participating Westerwood artists open their studios for an art show and sale
where visitors can easily walk from place to place. The event’s mantra is “Art You Can Walk To,”
given the dense population of neighborhood artists.
Part of the 17
Days Festival hosted by ArtsGreensboro -- the largest collaborative arts
festival of its kind in North Carolina -- Westerwood Art & Sole features
myriad artists at over a dozen different locations showing and selling art in a
pleasing variety of styles. Painters, woodworkers, potters, sculptors, a fabric
artist, and a photographer offer glimpses into their work processes and their
ways of interpreting the world through art. Westerwood, with its concentration
of artists and art lovers, continues to build its reputation as a lively local
art colony.
Watch for the Art
& Sole signs and balloons that mark participating studios; maps will be
available at the artists’ studios. Check

museums present 100-plus events between the last dozen days in September and the
first week in October at venues across the city. Hosted by ArtsGreensboro, the
Festival was created in 2011 to encourage arts participation and engage cultural
visitors. More than 75,000 participants attended Festival events in
recent years. For more information visit www.17DAYSGreensboro.org
