Community Leaders Announce the Opening of the Second Enrollment Period of the Affordable Care Act

"Despite the success of the first open enrollment period in North Carolina, there are over 40,000 uninsured residents in Guilford County that are still looking for health care coverage for themselves and their loved ones. With the second enrollment period looming just around the corner on November 15th, there is a lot of information that residents still need to know about the Marketplace in Guilford County in 2015. At the Guilford County Affordable Care Act Kickoff Event, Public Health Director Merle Green, City Councilwoman Sharon Hightower, and other community leaders will provide insight into how the Marketplace will look in 2015 and the community resources available in Guilford County to help families get a plan that meets their needs.

A kickoff event will occur on Saturday, November 15th, 2014 from 8:30-9:30am at the Evans- Blount Community Health Clinic on 2031 Martin Luther King Drive. The press conference will be followed by a public service event from 9:30-4pm, where Affordable Care Act navigators will assist uninsured members of the general public in getting health care coverage for themselves and their families.

For more information about the event, please contact Alex Lewis at the Guilford County Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health at (336) 641-4102 or Mark Van Arnam of Enroll America at (704) 604-7812."
