will become partners of the restaurant January 1, 2015. The Wheeler brothers
are familiar faces at the restaurant since they have both worked at
Undercurrent for the past 6 years. Wes is Bar Manager and Chris is Sous-Chef to
Chef Michael Harkenreader, who will remain the head chef.
“We are excited to
have Chris and Wes join us as partners. They both have the enthusiasm and drive
to continue the high quality of standards that everyone expects of the

has consistently dominated the elegant dining restaurant scene in downtown
Greensboro for more than 16 years. Local, sustainable ingredients from
the prolific farms throughout the North Carolina Piedmont region direct
Undercurrent’s seasonal menus, which offer a New American cuisine utilizing
classical French techniques with global influence.
“The Undercurrent
is everything you want in a family-run business, we are very excited to join
Ben and Susie (Roberts) as not just business partners, but members of the
Undercurrent family,” said Wes Wheeler. His brother, Chris, agrees,
“We’re very grateful for the trust that Ben and Susie have placed in us, and
I’m excited to learn all that we can from them in the coming years.”
The Wheelers plan to begin the transition into their new roles at
Undercurrent Restaurant now and into 2015. Ben Roberts will stay in a
