Piedmont Diaper Bank Joins Statewide Organization

Merges with Diaper Bank of North Carolina to Boost Capacity

"Piedmont Diaper Bank announces that it is joining with Diaper Bank of North Carolina as part of a statewide effort to address diaper need.

Beginning on January 1, 2015, Piedmont Diaper Bank will be known as Diaper Bank of North Carolina, Greater Triad. The bank will retain a local focus, continuing to partner with family support agencies in Forsyth, Guilford, Davie, Davidson, Randolph, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin Counties.
“This merger is a wonderful opportunity for our community,” said Piedmont Diaper Bank co-founder Carrie Scott. “As part of this organization, we boost the capacity to serve local families.”
Scott and co-founder Valerie Glass will continue as leadership for Diaper Bank of North Carolina, Greater Triad. They will serve as the bank’s program directors under Diaper Bank of North Carolina executive director, Michelle Old.

“This expansion model allows banks across the state to simplify operations, streamline processes, and focus energy on the core work of covering little bottoms,” explained Old. The organization anticipates further expansion into other regions of the state.

“Becoming Diaper Bank of North Carolina, Greater Triad offers the best of both worlds,” added Glass. “We will be part of a strong statewide movement to address diaper need, while continuing our day-to-day work with Triad families.”"
