Local Attorney Presents Seminar on Child Custody & Support in NC at Women’s Center of Greensboro

The event is open to women with questions on family law issues

"Greensboro, NC – Brinkley Walser Stoner attorney Roy L. McDonald II will discuss common issues involving child custody and child support at a free seminar on Jan. 8 at the Women’s Resource Center of Greensboro. The seminar will begin at 11am and is open to Triad area women.

“Child custody and support issues are easily the most challenging areas of family law,” says McDonald. “It’s best for the children involved if both parents can arrive at an amicable solution, either working together or through a mediator. When that isn’t feasible, it’s important for the parties to understand their rights and responsibilities under North Carolina law. I hope this seminar will address many of the questions and concerns women may have about custody and support challenges.” The seminar will be held at The Women’s Resource Center of Greensboro located at 628 Summit Avenue in Greensboro on Jan. 8 at 11am and discuss the following:
·         Factors reviewed by the court in making custody determinations
·         What happens when parents cannot agree to visitation terms or violate those terms
·         When mediation is a good choice
·         When supervised visitation might be ordered
·         How child support is determined (and how to request an increase)
·         Your options if your spouse is not paying court-ordered child support
Mr. McDonald will also answer audience questions on custody and support issues. Anyone with questions may contact Marti Smith, Community Education Program Director, at (336) 275-6090.
