"Allison Palmadessa, a 2003 graduate of Greensboro College and an assistant professor of history here, has been elected to the team that will create and monitor progress against an improvement plan for a local elementary school.
Palmadessa will serve on the School-Based Leadership Team for Northern Elementary School in Greensboro.
The team is composed of teachers, administrators and parents who study testing data to prepare a School Improvement Plan and monitor progress on it, assessing benchmarks and providing intervention support.
Palmadessa also presented a paper at the recent annual national conference of the Association for the Study of Higher Education in Washington, D.C. The paper was titled, "Policy Paradigms in Higher Education, 1946-2013."
Palmadessa holds a B.A. from Greensboro College and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She joined the full-time faculty in 2014 after teaching part-time here for several years.
